Too Little too late: Group buying sites feel the wrath!

1

Category : Business, Online

“So far this year Consumer Affairs Victoria has received more than 160 complaints from consumers about group buying sites. This compares with just 22 similar complaints last year.”

Rachel Wells (The Age) wants you to think, that this is an industry in crisis however  closer investigation of the article highlights some much pertinent undertones.

These 160 complaints translate to 1 in 27,000 transactions per day (Telsyte).  Based on the increased usage (627% increase) even if the complaints continue, the excepted usage of these group buying sites is projected to increase 1354% over the initial figure. We think that sort of failure rate sounds negatively impressive!  Only 0.000037% of vouchers sold result in a complaint and in context of  product delivery and efficiency, we think that’s pretty Impressive!

Keep it coming group buys sites we love the savings coming out (a total estimation of $4m so far) and the great marketing potential it has for existing small business to reach outside their circle.
